Tennessee Soccer Club

Coach Defriese was awarded the 2012 TSSA Girls Competitive Coach of the Year award at the Annual General Meeting of the TN State Soccer Association on January 26th.  Coach Defriese just wrapped up a year where he won his record 16th State Championship, a Southern Regional Championship, and had a National Finalist finish.  He is one of three coaches from Tennessee to win a Region III Championship.  

Coach Defriese grew up playing soccer in Chattanooga, TN.  He played college soccer at UT Chattanooga, where he earned a degree in pre-law, then continued to the John Marshall School of Law to get his law degree.  Currently, Coach Defriese is the Director of Player and Team Development at the Tennessee Soccer Club.  He is also a coach in the U9 girl’s academy, and coaches the Tennessee SC 18 Elite Girls.
