"Tennessee SC is rapidly becoming one of the top clubs in the USA.   I am delighted to be a part of that growth and look forward to helping develop and teach young GKs within the club." Said Eric Vaughter

Vaughter began his collegiate coaching career at Appalachian State University where he was assistant coach for Hank Steinbrecher of US Soccer Federation fame. Since then Vaughter has coached a long line of Goalkeepers at various programs such as Sangamon State (IL), Duke University-1986 Men’s National Champions, High Point U, North Carolina State U, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Charlotte, Vanderbilt U, and most recently Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. EV has trained both Men’s and Women’s GKs at most collegiate programs where he has worked.  Prior to taking the GK Coach position at Sangamon State, Vaughter spent 2 years as the GK Trainer at noted Centerville High School OH.

EV’s success with young GKs is continually shown by the increasing number of former Collegiate and NETperformance GKs in all levels of professional soccer throughout the USA.

In the business world, EV was a founding manager of Eurosport (now Soccer.Com) as well as working for Hi-Tec Sports, Adidas International, Parker Athletic USA, isoBLOX Protective, and is owner and Managing Director of NETperformance GK Education Co.  EV currently works as a product development consultant for Reusch USA as well as heading up the Olympus Rugby brand of Continental Sports Supply, Inc.

“I am very excited about the opportunity for EV to lead the goalkeeping program.” states Executive Director of Coaching, Stuart Brown. “Eric adds a tremendous wealth of knowledge from his experience working with both girls and boys from an extensive background at professional, youth and top collegiate levels. His addition to our full time staff will only enhance what’s already an incredible group of Directors to push our program to be one of the top organizations in the country” In addition Brown adds, “The role of a goalkeeping is essential to the modern game and Tennessee SC recognizes the importance of position specific training and remains committed to providing the best player development environment to our membership.”

EV’s work begins immediately and will include weekly Goalkeeping training beginning September 8, curriculum development, and evaluation of Tennessee SC goalkeepers. You can reach EV via email at gk@tennesseesoccerclub.org.
