Maya Wright, recently returned from Port Au Prince, Haiti where she participated as a member of the US Virgin Islands U17 Women's National team in the Caribbean Football Union qualifier of the Women's U-17 FIFA World Cup Tournament. The FIFA U17 Women's World Cup Final will be hosted in Costa Rica during the spring of 2014. Through both the initial and Caribbean Football Union qualifying rounds, Maya competed in six international matches, logging 90 minutes per game, against Antigua & Barbuda, Haiti, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts-Nevis, and Trinidad & Tobago. After advancing past the initial qualifier held in August in St. Croix, USVI, her team was eliminated in Caribbean Football Union Final hosted in Haiti during September.
Brooke Steed, a member of the TSC 15 Girls Premier team, verbally committed to play for Alma College in Alma, Michigan earlier this 2013 Fall season. Brooke is a starting defender for the Centennial High School (CHS) Lady Cougar's soccer team, has lettered three years on the girls varsity soccer team, was voted defensive MVP by her team twice, served as a co-captain this year and earned a spot on the 2013 District 11-AAA All District Team. Brooke's high school coach is TSC's own Sandy Pollock and her TSC club coach is Josh Severns. She is a starting defender for TSC 15 Girls Premier and served as the 2012-2013 TSC Team Captain. She was part of the defensive effort that allowed the lowest goals scored of any D1 97 team at the 2013 TN D1 State Championship. Brooke is an A/B honor roll student, is currently a senior at CHS and will graduate in 2014. She plans to study Psychology, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement or Physical Training at Alma College.
After impressing the National Team coaching staff at the U14 National Team camp, Tennessee SC 16's Karlie Paschall has been called up to the U15 National Team camp starting October 5th. She is one of 26 players in the US to be identified for this the US Soccer National Team Training Center Event. US U17 Women's National Team Coach BJ will be at the event to scout potential call-ups and for the next U17 cycle.
Karlie will also return to Carson, CA in November for another National Team event. Good luck Karlie as you represent Tennessee SC and Tennessee Soccer!
