TSC Goalkeeping Program Takes Exciting Steps with New Director Hires
FRANKLIN, TN - Tennessee Soccer Club has named Peter Davis the new Director of Goalkeeping and Cam Petty as a new Assistant Director of Goalkeeping.
With this new leadership team in place, TSC plans to reimagine the club’s goalkeeping program, investing resources to make it one of the elite youth goalkeeping environments in the nation.
“Tennessee Soccer Club is very fortunate to have identified our goalkeeping needs and strengthened our program by adding Peter Davis and Cam Petty to the staff,” said TSC Executive Director Stuart Brown. “Their experience, leadership, and commitment to development position us as one of the premier goalkeeping environments in the country.”
Davis, a South Carolina native, is moving to Tennessee after spending the past five years in the professional ranks, coaching goalkeepers in the USL Championship with Oakland Roots in California and New Mexico United in Albuquerque, NM. In addition to his professional coaching experience, Davis has an extensive youth soccer background. He has served as Academy Goalkeeper Director at IdeaSport Soccer Academy and SIMA (Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy) in Florida, and has held volunteer goalkeeper coaching positions at the University of Florida and the University of Central Florida. Davis holds a United States Soccer Federation “C” License, S.F.A. Goalkeeper Level 1.3, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma, and a Master’s in Education from Mercer University.
“I'm honored and excited to join Tennessee Soccer Club as the new Director of Goalkeeping. I am inspired by the club's mission and belief to develop excellence and foster a lifelong love for the game,” said Davis. “I look forward to working with all goalkeepers and coaches across all ages and ability levels - building on the club's commitment to growth and passion. My goal is to grow the GK program into one of the most well respected GK programs in the country.”
Petty rejoins the TSC staff, this time at the director level after a previous stint as an ECNL Goalkeeping Staff Coach. Most recently, he worked for MLS club Nashville SC as the Apprentice Goalkeeper Coach, assisting in all aspects of training and operations. Petty has also coached in the collegiate environment, serving as Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper Coach at Belmont University. He holds a USSF “D” License and the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma.
“I'm thrilled to be joining the Tennessee Soccer Club Goalkeeper team this year,” said Petty. “As a Nashville native and former player with the club, it's been incredible to witness the growth of the sport—both locally through our state league teams and nationally through platforms like the ECNL. I'm excited to work with our goalkeepers and help them develop both on and off the field here at TSC.”
Davis and Petty look to breathe new life into the TSC Goalkeeping Program, joining forces with current Assistant Director of Goalkeeping Kyle Swanson and the rest of the goalkeeping coaching staff.
“Goalkeepers are the backbone of any team, and with the new structure in place, we expect to see tremendous growth and development across all levels,” said Brown. “I’m excited about what the future holds for TSC’s goalkeeping program.”
