Maddie Padelski Talks About her Experience at the United States U-16 Women’s Youth National Team Camp
Q and A with Maddie Padelski
We sat down with TSC ECNL forward Maddie Padelski who just returned home from a week away at the United States U-16 Women's Youth National Team Camp in Portland, OR.
TSC: What TSC team are you on?
Maddie: I’m currently playing on the 2007 ECNL Girls team.
TSC: How many years have you played at TSC?
Maddie: This is my fourth year at TSC.
TSC: How did you hear about your invite to the U-16 National Team?
Maddie: Well, my parents checked me out of school on my birthday and took me to my favorite restaurant. They bought me a card and put my national team invitation in it. I was so happy I started crying, haha.
TSC: Tell us about your experience at the camp.
Maddie: It honestly went pretty great. It was a great environment to be in and playing against some of the best players in the country was amazing. It was also eye opening on some of the things I can get better on.
TSC: What was your favorite moment from the camp?
Maddie: My favorite moment was getting to know all the girls and when I scored my first goal in our first match which we won 3-0. It was an amazing feeling and I’m really hoping for many more.
TSC: What did you learn from this experience?
Maddie: One thing i learned is that everyone is hungry to be the best and if you want to be at the top you need to be brave and take risks. You also have to believe in yourself because if you don’t, no one else will.
TSC: What are your goals for the future?
Maddie: My goal for the future is to be on the US Senior Women’s National Team and play professionally either overseas or in the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League).
TSC: Who is your favorite soccer player?
Maddie: Ever since I was little Alex Morgan has always inspired me so I would definitely say her.
TSC: Thank you, Maddie. We are definitely rooting for you to keep making an impact for TSC and the United States Women’s National Team program.
Maddie: Thank you, I really loved the experience!
A special thank you and congratulations to Maddie for sharing her experience at the USWYNT Camp with us.
