Suarez Earns Tennessee State Soccer Association Girls Coach of the Year
MURFREESBORO, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club coach Enrique Suarez was honored as Girls Competitive Coach of the Year by Tennessee State Soccer Association on Friday night at the TSSA Annual Awards Dinner and General Meeting.
“It is a great honor and very humbling to win this award again, and for it being on the other side for the girls is even better,” Suarez said. “I appreciate even being considered for it, but at the end of the day, the award is not mine. It belongs to each girl on the team, with a great support from the parents and the club.”
During the 2021-22 season, Suarez coached the 2004 TSC Murfreesboro Girls Showcase team to the Tennessee State Cup Championship, after an undefeated State League schedule. The team went on a tremendous run after State Cup, including a finalist finish in the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) Southern Regional Championship earning a bid to the National Championships in Orlando, FL. The team was not done yet, however, winning their group and advancing all the way to the National Semifinals.
“We are very proud of Enrique and all the team accomplished this year,” said TSC Murfreesboro Director Jason Finley. “He is one of our many fine coaches and deserves this recognition.”
Suarez played for Club Deportes Quindio in Colombia as well as Nike FC Portland in Oregon before making his way for college to play locally at Lipscomb. He has been coaching since 2008 and received the Competitive Coach of the Year Award on the Boys side back in 2020.

Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Williamson County and the surrounding Greater Nashville area. TSC's Mission is "to promote a love for soccer by developing excellence in the game for our players and coaches to positively impact our member families and communities.”
Since 2012, TSC has been the premier youth soccer club in the state of Tennessee and currently serves over 3,500 players participating in recreational, competitive and/or supplemental soccer programs across four locations: TSC Murfreesboro, TSC Nashville, TSC Sumner and TSC Williamson. TSC teams compete locally, regionally, and nationally in leagues such as the Tennessee Youth Soccer League, USYS National League and Mid South Conference, and the Elite Clubs National League. TSC also fields two U23 pre-professional teams competing in USL W League (women’s) and USL League Two (men’s). TSC has won multiple state and national championships in recent years through competition in these leagues.
