FRANKLIN, TN - Kristen Vlahos is joining Tennessee Soccer Club’s full-time staff as the new U15-U19 Girls Director of Coaching. Kristen coached with TSC in the 2021-22 season and adds a great deal of coaching and playing experience to TSC’s staff.
“We are thrilled to add a high quality person and coach like Kristen to our staff,” said Executive Director Stuart Brown. “Kristen brings such great experience that will have a tremendous impact on our girls program.”
Vlahos moved to Nashville last year after spending the previous six seasons as an Assistant Coach at Georgetown University. During her time in Washington, D.C., she helped guide the Hoyas to three Big East Tournament Championships and two NCAA College Cup appearances in 2016 and 2018. While coaching at Georgetown, Vlahos also served as an age group coordinator at the Braddock Road Youth Club in Virginia. Additionally, she served as an assistant coach with the Spirit Academy in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
As a collegiate player, Vlahos had a standout career at Wake Forest University. She played in 88 games during her career, tied for the fifth most in school history, and started 77 times. Her 18 career assists are the fifth-most in school history and she added nine goals for 36 points during her career. In 2011, when Wake Forest reached the NCAA Women’s College Cup, she was the first-ever Demon Deacon selected to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. She earned her degree from Wake Forest in mathematical economics and earned her master’s degree in sports industry management from Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies in 2018.
Vlahos’ career continued into the professional ranks after her standout career at Wake Forest. She was selected as the 23rd overall pick of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft by Seattle Reign FC for the inaugural season of the league. Vlahos was invited to the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) U-23 camp that same year.
